A native of Lyman, a small Nebraska town with a population of 400, Dr. Jerry Reisig is a graduate of SUNY at Stony Point (BA), holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from New York Theological Seminary.  For over twenty years, he worked in computer and network support both for computer manufacturers and large law firms. He later combined this technical knowledge with theological training in order to create a paradigm of library services in which access and navigation to information are regarded as essential to ministry in the 21st Century.  As a member of the Religious Society of Friends, he believes that the ability to access, navigate, discern and include information reflect the Quaker Testimony of Justice.

In addition to his primary work in developing research and writing skills, Dr. Reisig also teaches courses in basic and advanced Greek and Greek exegesis. He is the author of an extensively used manual at NYTS, Access: Unlocking the Power of Research – A Guide to Library Services and Information Literacy (6th Edition).
