Edward L. Hunt is the Director of the Master of Professional Studies Program, an off- campus program of New York Theological Seminary at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York.  He also is Professor of Pastoral Care at NYTS teaching: Introduction to Pastoral Care, Crisis Counseling, Hermeneutics, The Art of Worship, and Biblical Story Telling.  He is a graduate of Virginia Union University School of Religion (M. Div., 1964) and The University of Florida, (Ph.D. 1972).  He retired as Senior Chaplain after serving for 32 years at Sing Sing a New York State Department of Correctional Services Facility in Ossining NY.  Dr. Hunt has done extensive work with the Criminally Insane in New York State Department of Mental Health Facilities and troubled youth with the New York State Division of Youth.  Dr. Hunt also is a registered therapist.

Dr. Hunt is an ordained American Baptist Minister and Moderator of the Mid-Hudson/Union Association of American Baptist Churches in Up-state New York.  Dr. Hunt is also the Pastor of the Bethel Missionary Baptist in Wappinger’s Falls, New York and currently involved in a nine-million dollar building project to construct a new church and completely refurbish the existing church building to house their Christian Education Department and Founders Community Center.
