Vocational Discernment

The Office of Vocational Discernment at NYTS has been formed to help current and prospective students more fully understand their call to the ministry.  Students may have developed a limited sense of calling and ask, "Would God call someone like me?" or may have come from places where they are considered unworthy of ministry and are told "God could not call someone like you."  But in spite of reasoning or badgering, the call keeps coming. It is time to talk to someone who will listen.

Dr. Cynthia Diaz, the Director of Vocational Discernment, understands that God calls men and women from every walk of life and at any time of life, and that such calls are often challenging and difficult to understand.  If you believe you have been called to Christian ministry, Dr. Diaz and NYTS want to help you better understand the nature of that calling and provide you with the direction and resources that you need to become what God has called you to be.
