Title: Director of the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) Degree
Location: New York, New York and Ossining, New York

Responsibilities: To provide leadership of the MPS program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York. This includes managing all of the academic and administrative aspects of the Degree Program in conjunction with the Academic Dean and the MPS Faculty Committee. The director will participate in curriculum development, securing qualified instructors, and ensuring the program runs smoothly. The Director also oversees the process from recruitment to graduation each year for candidates for the degree, who are recruited, interviewed and admitted from correctional facilities throughout the State of New York. The vision to expand this program to a women’s facility is a must.
A key component of this work is relating to the Senior Administration and Correctional Officers of the Sing Sing facility, as well as volunteers from local churches and other faith-based and educational organizations, who help tutor and minister to the students in the program. The Director will teach classes in the MPS program in Ossining and on the main campus of the Seminary. The director must have a willingness to participate in promotional and fund-raising aspects of this program in conjunction with the VP for Institutional Advancement. The qualified candidate will be eligible to be a member of the NYTS core faculty.
- A Master’s degree from an accredited theological school
- A Doctoral degree – preferably in a theological discipline
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level and beyond – graduate level preferred
- Experience fund-raising
- Experience working with a correctional facility would add value to the application
Salary: Commensurate with experience
