How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in New York Theological Seminary’s programs. As you prepare to join the NYTS family, rest assured that you are joining generations of faith and thought leaders. NYTS has transformed students from the 1900s to the present, and for over a century, New York City has provided the urban ecology in which students were trained and sent to serve.

Please note that in addition to the application found here, each program has its own admission requirements. Please check the website for the program you are applying to for the requirements.

General Application Requirements

How to Apply

  1. Online Application and Fee
  2. Complete an essay following the instructions on the application checklist.
  3. Official Transcript(s) of all undergraduate and graduate work.
  4. Three letters of Recommendation-Academic, Ministerial & Professional.
  5. Proof of Identity (state-issued driver’s license, state identification card, or passport).
  6. TOEFL Score (if English is not your first language)
  7. Financial Aid-Complete a FAFSA and NYTS Scholarship Application (To complete these applications please see financial aid on the website).
  8. The admissions committee requires that all transcripts from institutions from outside of the United States or Canada be sent to a professional transcript service for a course-by-course evaluation.

Statement of Non-Discrimination
