Financial Wellness

By Tamisia White

The start of a semester can feel very overwhelming to even the most seasoned seminarian. Taking the initiative and prioritizing your financial aid future is the best way to ensure success. Waiting until the last minute can be stressful for you, as well as the people who work tirelessly to make sure you’re on the right track.

Here are some tips to help you get prepared:

Create a budget and complete the requisite application(s) no less than 60 days before the start of the term. Check your financial aid status online periodically to see what you are eligible for and for how much. Will it cover your entire balance or do you need to make payment arrangements?

Register for your classes early! This will allow you to have more of a variety to choose from before they start filling up. This will also give you more time to plan your work or childcare schedule for the new semester.

Stay on top of  your academic transcript and monitor your academic progress to ensure nothing holds you back from the best financial aid package possible.
